Team White took it to Team Red in the first period, outshooting them 13-5 but neither team were able to score.
Team Red opened the scoring on a backhand by Marcus Foligno just 42 seconds into the period. Ashton extended the lead to 2-0 when he scored, with assists going to Pirri and Connolly.
The biggest hit of the game when Murphy threw a solid check on Schenn. Schenn retaliated with a couple of cross checks and was called for the retaliation. Team White was unable to score on the PP. both teams changed goaltenders half way through the period.
LeBlanc scored 42 seconds into the third to cut the lead to 2-1. Nine minutes later Schwartz scored on a Nugent-Hopkins rebound to make it 3-1 Red.
Foligno scored his second goal of the game on a breakaway with 17 seconds remaining in the game. The squads then practiced the shootout after the game sending 9 shooters a side. Four scored for each including : White - Johansen, Bournival, Cizikas, Gudbranson ; Red: Ashton, Barrie, de Haan, Hamilton.
The 2 teams play again Monday at the Master Card Center in Toronto before playing a game Tuesday against University players.
The final roster will be announced on Wednesday.
