Barrie Claims Jordan CoccimIglio Off Waivers From Erie

The Barrie Colts are proud to announce today that they have acquired center Jordan Coccimiglio from the Erie Otters.

Coccimiglio spent a season and a half with the Otters before being claimed off waivers Friday afternoon by the Barrie Colts. 

In 98 career games in the Ontario Hockey League the Burlington native has registered five goals and eight assists, while collecting 14 minutes in penalties.

Coccimiglio played 31 games with the Otters this season and scored four times.  Last season the rookie played in all but one contest, picking up six points.

Coccimiglio, who's olber brother Brandon chose the NCAA route, is in his second season with the Otters. Last season he played in 67 games recording 1 goal and 5 assists.

Selected in the third round of the OHL Priority draft in 2009, he played his prior season with the Burlington Eagles scoring 24 goals and adding 31 assists in 55 games.

Coccimiglio isn't big for a hockey player, but tries to play a big game. He works hard and is always trying to learn. He will play with some gifted players with Erie this season, so we'll see if his offensive abilities can come to the forefront. Coccimiglio will definitely be a project worth keeping an eye on.
