The undrafted defenseman has made the Knights roster as a free agent. With Jared Tinordi back from the Montreal Canadiens training camp and highly touted prospect Scott Harrington on the roster, Moffat settled in nicely in the number 3-4 spot.
Moffat made the transition to the OHL look easy. He has very good size. He's an absolute rock in his own zone. He battles hard in the corners, on the boards and in front of his own net. He closes gaps well, has an active stick in the lanes and uses his size extremely well to take away scoring chances.
What the Knights are going to lack this season is offense. While Moffat scored 7 goals and added 15 assists in 35 games for the Waterloo Wolves in the AHMPL last season, offense is not what Moffat will bring to the table for the Knights. But they will be more than happy with his defensive game.
