The 4th round pick, 79 overall in the 2009 Priority Draft, was drafted as a defensemen but is playing right wing for the Petes.
The 6'3 Mathers has already served a 2 game suspension for his part in a brawl against Oshawa.
Mathers possesses a rather deceptive shot and is a good skater for his size but highlights featuring Mathers will be more for his fisticuffs than his offense. Mathers is quickly becoming a true heavy weight.
