Shaw was drafted by Sudbury in 2009 in the OHL priority draft. The 17-year-old Amherstburg native was chosen in the fifth round, 85th overall. The 6', 190 lbs. forward scored 69 points in 49 regular season games with the Sun County Panthers during the 2008-09 season and added 19 points in 16 playoff games.
Last season for the Wolves he played in 9 games, going pointless.
Shaw is a highly skilled and physical forward with a great shot. He has good size and excellent offensive potential. He will get plenty of opportunity to showcase his offense in Sudbury and will receive quality power play time. His good work ethic and willingness to learn are the traits that should allow Shaw to be successful for the Wolves.
