OHL Playoffs - Day 1

Niagara 7 Brampton 1 - Niagara leads series 1-0

This one wasn't even close. Darren Archibald scored 4 goals for the Ice Dogs enroute to the romp. As for the draft eligible players, Ryan Strome was held off the score sheet; Dougie Hamilton scored once and added an assist as did Mitchell Theoret.

Strangely, Brampton outshot Niagara 40 - 25. Cody St Jaques started in goal for Brampton and was replaced by Matej Machovsky after allowing 4 goals on 13 shots.

Oshawa 7 Kingston 3 - Oshawa leads series 1-0

The shots in this one were close at 38-36 for Oshawa, but that's about it. Oshawa's draft watch players did what they had to do. Lucas Lessio had a goal, Nicklas Jensen had a goal and 2 assists and  Boone Jenner tallied 2 goals and 1 assist.

Franky Palazzese, who has been starting for number 1 goalie Philip Grubauer, was pulled after 40 minutes after allowing 4 goals on 27 shots.

Erie 2 Windsor 1 - Erie leads series 1-0

Erie goes into Windsor and takes game 1 in a tight battle. Jack Campbell made 35 saves for Windsor while Ramis Sadikov made 40 for Erie.

Phil Varone opened the scoring with a short handed marker and then set up Anthony Luciani with the eventual game winner before Stephen Johnston scored on the power play early in the third to cut the lead to 2-1.

Mississauga 4 Belleville 1 - Mississauga leads series 1-0

Belleville couldn't muster much offense in this one getting 18 shots on goal to Mississauga's 27. but Austen Brassard was able to beat JP Anderson for a goal.
