Team White takes game 2 at Team Canada Camp

The venue was the same. The Lineups were the same. And the task at hand for 40 players was the same: earn a spot on Team Canada's roster for the World Junior Championships.

It didn't take Team Red long to get on the boards. Only 55 seconds into the contest, Schwartz scored on assists from Connolly and Nugent-Hopkins. Hamilton put the Reds up 2-0 with a set up from Sheahan and the red hot Foligno.

Team White was able to pull within 1 late in the period with a powerplay goal on a Johansen tip in of a Murphy shot. The period ended with the Reds out shooting the Whites 10-9.

Kassian tied it up at 2 early in the second with the helper going to his Windsor Spitfires team mate Ellis.

Gallagher gave the Whites their first lead when set up by Vey just after the teams switched up the goalies. Roy was replaced by Visentin for the Whites and Pickard took over for Anderson for the Red. The period ended with the Whites up 3-2 after holding a 10-8 shot advantage in the period.

A flurry of goals in the third put the defense out the window. Eakin and Cowen scored for the White and Howse and Smith for the Red. The Whites held a 5-4 lead until Ashton tied it up at 5 for the Red.

Cizikas put the Whites up to stay when he made it 6-5. Linden Vey closed it out with an empty net goal for a 7-5 victory for the White.

There are cuts expected Tuesday for Team Canada with the final Roster to be announced Wednesday.
Team Canada faces a squad of University players Tuesday before its final cuts are made.
