Shane Prince Flying High

Shane Prince continues to climb up the OHL scoring ladder and along with that, NHL draft rankings.

Dubbed Shane "Fresh Prince of Ottawa" by his agent Scott Norton, he helped lead his Ottawa 67's to a 9-0 thrashing of the Kingston Frontenacs last night in Ottawa.

And his team mate Tyler Toffoli pitched in 5 goals. Both are now tied for 2nd in scoring in the OHL, only 2 points out of top spot held by Kitchener Rangers' Jason Akeson .

Prince has played in 31 games this season and has 19 goals and 42 assists for 61 points to go along with only 8 penalty minutes. His 19 goals are the eighth most in the OHL while his 42 assists are second only to Akeson. He sits 5th among league leaders in power play assists with 14. He is also 4th in the league in game winning goals, and 1st in the league in +/- with a plus 34.

Prior to the season beginning, Prince wasn't even recieving whispers of a early 2nd round or late first round pick in the June draft. But with each passing game, there is more and more talk. If he continues on this torrid pace, moving up into the first round will not come as a surprise to those that watch him game in and game out.
