Game one - Subway Super Series.

Team Russia took game one against the QMJHL All-Stars with a come from behind 5-4 victory before a packed house in St Johns last night.

The Russians were led by Los Angeles Kings prospect Maxim Kitsyn, who scored twice and added an assist. His OHL rights are also held by the Mississauga St. Mikes Majors. Is it coincidence that Majors GM/Coach Dave Cameron took in the game last night?

Quebec phenom Sean Couturier who is also touted as the top pick for the 2011 NHL entry draft, went pointless on the evening. Put he still manages to show off his size and strength and his ability to hold on to the puck and make plays. I was a little disappointed, but he showed flashes of what makes him a great hockey player.

Game 2 goes Wednesday and is broadcast in Canada on RDS and the Rogers Sportsnet Regional Channels.

Sportsnet.ca is also web casting the event here. I'm not sure if it will work in the USA, but my American friends should give it a try Wednesday and catch some excellent 2011 draft prospects as well.
