Mac went 104th overall in the OHL draft and was the Storm's 5th pick.
As Captain of the 08/09 Minor Midget team, where he played 5 seasons with the Lakers, he led the team's defensive corps with 39 points (5 goals and 34 assists).
In addition to his AAA Lakers experience, Mac played 42 games this past season with the Listowel Cyclones and recorded 3 and 13 assists while also getting a 4 game callup with the Storm

Guelph has an abundance of defensemen with 4 players basically fighting it out for 1 spot. Overagers Chris Van Laren and Sam Lofquist are the established veterans with Tim Campbell finally gettinga chance to shoulder a heavy workload First-round pick Matt Finn and Russian import AndreyPedan are the only others penciled in.
The small defenseman was considered a long shot to make the team, but a very good training camp has the coach’s with a tough decission to make. Mac is fighting it out with David Searle for the 7th spot on the team.
But coach and GM Jason Brooks said it’s possible both could remain with the team and a trade could be made at a later date. On opening night, Mac was on the ice.
