Jordan Binnington, Owen Sound Attack
Binnington is my off season favourite to be the top goalie prospect for the 2011 NHL entry draft. It should be a good competition between he and Jacob Riley of Brampton and Tyson Teichmann of Belleville.
At 6’1” he is an amazingly slender kid of only 150 LBS. Some fans of the Attack who have seen him in practice tell me he works as hard in practice as he does in a game. He sees the puck well, fights through traffic, and never gives up on the puck. Is technically sound, has good rebound control. The second round pick will need to really improve on his puck handling, but judging by his work ethic, he’ll work on that.
In 22 games he posted a 4.38 GAA and .898 SV%.
