6'2" - 180 Lbs

An interesting selection here by the Majors in the import draft as Partanen signed a 3 year contract to play in Finland 1 short month before the draft. With a late 92 birthday, he is eligible for the 2011 NHL entry draft.

The big forward could stand to add some muscle and mass to his frame. Partanen has some speed, size, strength despite needing to add some muscle.He can handle the puck at full speed. He protects the puck well and it’s hard to knock him off the puck. He plays simple straightforward hockey and goes hard to the net and excels when jumping into open lanes.

Doesn't create his own scoring chances despite his willingness to go to the dirty areas. He's the typical example of a player that needs a set up man.

If he decides to play in the OHL, he'll come over to a Majors team that won't rely on him heavily for his offense and is an early favorite to win the OHL championship. Not to mention they are the Memorial Cup hosts and what better place is there to showcase yourself.

Stuart Percy

Stuart Percy, St Mikes Majors

The 15th overall pick in the Priority draft recorded 3 goals and added 15 assists and 40 PIM in 52 games for the Majors. He finished the season with a plus/minus -5.




He’s a big kid who needs to add some bulk to his frame but he can play gritty and can fight. Like DeMelo, he comes with huge offensive potential. The difference is that Percy already plays a strong defensive game.



He has very good mobility and a good hockey sense. He reads plays really well and has good poise with the puck. He won’t take risky chances and makes the safe smart play in his own zone.

Dylan DeMelo

Dylan DeMelo, St Mikes Majors

The 34th overall pick in the Priority draft played in 20 games for the Majors recording 1 assist and 12 PIM and was a plus 3.




He’s an offensive defenseman who makes a good first pass, and usually succeeds at making a pass most players wouldn’t even attempt. He has good vision and makes the smart safe play. Needs to work on his defensive game to succeed at the next level and possibly add some bulk and use that to his advantage.

Brendan McCann

Brendan McCann, St Mikes Majors

Brendan comes with tremendous offensive potential. The tall gritty kid started in 11 games for the Majors scoring 2 goals before heading back to play in Tier II. He dedicated his first OHL goal to his mother who he lost to cancer. She had dealt with that for 5 years, and McCann had to grow up very fast. He became quiet and reclusive, which may have played a part in his drop to 115th overall selection.




In Midget last season, he recorded 36 goals and 44 assists. He has a strong mental ability because of what he’s been through and is mature beyond his years. If he can bring that to his game for the Majors next season, added to his hockey ability, he should be a player to keep an eye on.

The fact that Mississauga will be the hosts for the 2011 Memorial Cup, will add exposure for McCann and his teammates
