Each week during the regular season, I selected the 3 stars of Draft Eligible Players for that week. With the season being now complete, I ranked them in a point system (5 for 1st place, 3 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd) and have the leaders listed as of the end of the regular season. They are:

My 3 stars for the week ending March 13, 2011
1st star - Mark Scheifele - Barrie. Scheifele recorded 3 goals and 5 assists in 3 games last week, each being multi point games. Scheifele now has 22 goals and 52 assists for 74 points in 64 games.
2nd star - Lucas Lessio - Oshawa. Lessio recorded 2 goals and 3 assists in 3 games last week but its his all around play that earns him the honors this week. Lessio has 26 goals and 27 assists for 53 points in 63 games for the Generals.
3rd star - Ryan Strome - Niagara. Its Strome's performance on Friday in which he scored the game tying goal and then the game winner in overtime to record his 100th and 101st points of the season making him the 2nd player in the OHL to reach the century mark and the first draft eligible in the entire CHL to do so. He now has 32 goals and 69 assists for 101 points in 62 games.

My 3 Stars for the week ending Mar 6/11
1st star - Nick Cousins - Soo Greyhounds - Cousins had a 1 goal 4 assist performance on Friday in a 10-4 thrashing of the Sarnia Sting. Cousins has been flying under the radar this season and now has 26 goals and 36 assists for 62 points in 63 games.
2nd star - Daniel Catenacci - Soo Greyhounds - On the same night Cousins potted 5 points, Catenacci chipped in with 2 goals and 2 assists bringing his season's total to 26 goals and 42 assists for 68 points in 62 games.
3rd star - Ryan Strome - Niagara Ice Dogs - Multi point games are the norm for Strome and you can add a couple of more to the list. In 3 games last week, Strome potted 2 goals and added 4 assists brining him close to the 100 point total. He stands at 98 points now, with 30 goals and 68 assists.

My 3 Stars for the week ending February 27, 2011
1st star - Daniel Catenacci - Soo Greyhounds Catenacci led the way for the Greyhounds on Sunday scoring twice and adding 2 assists and was a plus 3 on the day in leading the Greyounds to a 5-2 victory over the Sarnia Sting. Catenaccis now has 23 goals and 39 assists for 62 points in 59 games.
2nd star - Andrew Fritsch - Owen Sound On Saturday, Fritsch was invlolved in every Owen Sound goal as they beat the Guelph Storm 4-3, finishing the day with 2 goals and 2 assists and a plus 1. His season totals are now at 26 goals and 32 assists for 58 points in 54 games.
3rd star - Seth Griffith - London. Griffith led London to a 4-3 victory over Owen Sound on Friday scoring once and adding 3 assists and was a plus 2 on the day. His season totals are now 21 goals and 35 assists for 56 points in 60 games.

My 3 stars for the week ending February 21st, 2011
1st star - Vladislav Namestnikov - London. Namestnikov helped lead the London Knights to a 2-1-0 record last week by scoring 5 goals and adding 2 assists while taking over the goal scoring lead on the Knights and tying Jared Knight for points. He was a plus 2 on the week.
2nd star - Seth Griffith - London. Along with Namestnikov and Knight, Griffith helped form a formidable trio in also leading the Knights. Griffith registered 2 goals and 5 assists and was a plus 3 on the week.
3rd star - Gabriel Landeskog - Kitchener. Since his return from injury, Landeskog has been returning to form and put in a first star performance on Sunday against the Sudbury Wolves. In 3 games Landeskog recorded 2 goals and 2 assists and was a plus 3.

My 3 Stars for the week ending February 13, 2011
1st star - Ryan Strome - Niagara Ice Dogs. Strome has been in a bit of a scoring slump but is still putting up plenty of points for the Ice Dogs. He helped Niagara to a perfect 3-0-0 record last week notching 7 assists in those contests. His 7 points moved him atop the OHL scoring leaders with 26 goals and 63 assists.
2nd star - Ryan Murphy - Kitchener Rangers. It was a tough road trip for the Rangers later in the week that ended with a 2-1-1 record. Murphy tallied 4 goals and 4 assists to break the 20 goal, 70 point mark and take over the defenseman scoring lead from Ryan Ellis.

1st star - Mark Scheifele - Barrie - In 2 games last week, Scheifele had 2 four point games beginning with a 3 goal 1 assist effort and followed that up with a 2 goal 2 assist effort finishing the week with 5 goals and 3 assists and a plus 5 in those 2 games.
2nd star - Boone Jenner - Oshawa - Jenner had 2 multi point games last week begining with a 2 goal performance and then following that up with a 1 goal 4 assist effort and topped that off with a single goal effort to finish the week with 4 goals and 3 assists and a plus 3 in those 3 contests.
3rd star - Stefan Noesen - Plymouth - Noesen endind the week Saturday with a 5 point performance on Saturday against the Sarnia Sting. He finished the week with 3 goals and 3 assists and a plus 4 on the week.

My 3 Stars for the week ending January 30/11
1st Star - Ryan Strome - Niagara. Suffering through a 6 game scoreless draught, Strome broke that by scoring 1 goal and adding 8 assists for 9 points in three games while also finishing a plus 4. Strome is now second in league scoring with 78 points in 48 games.
2nd Star - Alex Khokhlachev - Windsor. Khoklachev score 5 goals and was a plus 4 including a 4 goal effort ahainst Kitchener in 3 games. He is now top 20 in scoring with 59 points in 46 games.
3rd Star - Matt Mahalak - Plymouth. An outstanding performance in a 36 save shutout against Oshawa earns Mahalak the 3rd star of the week. That followed a performance in which he came in in relief of Scott Wedgewood for a shootout victory over Niagara one night ealrier.

My 3 stars for the week ending January 23/11

Griffith took the lead for London who had traded away most of the veterans on deadline day and help them to a 7-3-0 record this month. Griffith recorded 2 goals and 6 assists and was a plus 3 in 3 games last week.

My 3 stars for the week ending January 16/11
1st star - Nicklas Jenesen - Oshawa Generals. It was a solid week for Jensen in leading his Generals with 3 goals and 4 assists and a plus 1 in three games. The rookie now has 21 goals and 21 assists and is a plus 16 in 35 games and will participate in the Top Prospects game on Wednesday.
2nd star - Lino Martschini - Peterborough. The little guy from Switzerland continues to impress. in three games for the Petes he recorded 5 goals and 2 assists and was a plus 4. In 35 games he's recorded 12 goals and 28 assists.
3rd star - Rickard Rakell - Plymouth Whalers. Rakell, who will also participate in the Top Prospects game recorded 5 goals and was a plus 1 leading the Whalers last week. He now has 16 goals and 16 assists and is a plus 10 in 33 games for tha Whalers.

My 3 Stars for the week ending January 9/11
1st star - Shane Prince, Ottawa 67's. Prince seems to be a regular fixture here nowadays. And why not? All he does is continue to rack up points for the 67's. Last week he scored once and added 8 assists and was a plus 5 in 3 games. He now has 21 goals and 53 assists in 41 games on the season, only 1 point behind team mate Tyler Toffoli for the league lead.
2nd star - Nicklas Jensen - Oshawa Generals. Jensen has been coming on strong lately and beginning to garner attention. He's found his confidence and is feeling comfortable playing in North America and that doesn't bode well for opposition goaltenders. In 3 games last week Jensen scored 5 goals and added an assist and was a plus 4 on the week. He now has 18 goals and 14 assists in 31 games on the season in which it is a virtual tie for 3rd in team scoring with fellow draft eligibles Boone Jenner and Lucas Lessio.
3rd star - Brett Ritchie - Sarnia Sting. Ritchie too was off to a slow start this season and with the 2 "Super Russian" rookies taking the OHL by storm for the Sting, his offense wasn't counted on as much. But in 3 games last week, Ritchie scored 4 goals and added 2 assists and was a plus 2 while being solid in all 3 zones for the Sting. He now has 17 goals and 10 assists in 37 games. He's already surpassed last seasons goals and is only 6 shy in assists and 2 shy in points. He's gone from a minus 33 last season to a minus 5 this season.

My 3 Stars for the week ending Jan 2, 2011
1st Star - Seth Griffith, London Knights. Through 2 games this last week, Griffith started finding his offensive game playing along side Jared Knight. He potted 3 goals and 3 assists in back to back victories over the Sarnia Sting and finished a plus 2 in those 2 games. In 35 games this season Griffith has 13 goals and 17 assists and is a plus 3.

The week was a rebound of sorts for Jensen who now has 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points in 28 games and is a solid plus 11.

My 3 Stars for the week ending December 19, 2010
Its the last installment of 3 stars for 2010 as the league is no down for the Christmas break. Hope all of you and the players have a very Merry Christmas.
1st star - Matt Puempel - Peterborough. The Petes continue to struggle but Puempel is quietly going about his business. In 3 games he recorded 3 goals and 3 assists and a plus 2 to lead his team.
2nd star - Shane Prince - Ottawa. All Prince does is continue to put up points at a surprising rate and he does it consistently. In 3 games for the 67's he scored 3 goals and added an assist and wa a +1.
3rd star - Dougie Hamilton - Niagara. It was by far Hamiltons best week this season. He helped his team to back to back victories where they outscored the opposition 15-2. He recorded 1 goal and 2 assists and was a plus 5 in those 2 games.

My 3 Stars for the week ending Dec 12/10
1st star - Gabriel Landeskog - Kitchener. In 3 games, Gabe scored twice and added 3 assists and was a plus 4 and was his usual solid all around player in helping Kitchener try to catch Owen Sound for 1st place before heading of to join Team Sweden's camp for the WJC.
2nd star - Shane Prince - Ottawa. Prince continues to draw attention. In 2 games he was once again an offensive force scoring once and adding 4 assists and was a plus 4.
3rd star - Ryan Murphy - Kitchener. Because he was headed off to join Team Canada's camp, Murphy only played 2 games this week and registered 4 assists and was a plus 7. But what he means to the Rangers team was shown in the Sunday match with Owen Sound where the leagues second best PP was only able to muster 2 goals on 13 chances without him in the lineup.

1st - Alan Quine - Peterborough - Quine is finding his offensive game since the trade for Ryan Spooner. In 3 games he recorded 5 goals and 3 assists
2nd - Mark Scheifele - Barrie - Continues to put up offensive numbers. In 3 games he recorded 2 goals and 6 assists.
3rd - Stefan Noesen - Plymouth - it wasn't a great week for Plymouth but Noesen was a solid contributor at both ends scoring once and adding 4 assists and was a plus 4

My 3 Stars for the week ending Nov 14/10
Quiet week points wise for some of the draft eligibles, but some good stories
1st - Shane Prince - Ottawa - Prince scored 1 goal and added 7 assists and was a plus 5 in 3 games to quietly move up the OHL scoring race. He's been quietly and consistantly going about his business and goes unnoticed in some circles.
2nd - Nicklas Jensen - Oshawa - Jensen is also going about his business quietly scoring 1 goal and adding 4 assists and was a plus 2 in 2 games for the Generals. He's getting more and more comfortable in the North American game.
3rd - Mike Morrison - Kitchener - The Kitchener Rangers goaltender came within 4 minutes of recording back to back shutouts with a very good performance against Brampton where he made 29 saves on 30 shots.
1st - Shane Prince - Ottawa - Prince scored 1 goal and added 7 assists and was a plus 5 in 3 games to quietly move up the OHL scoring race. He's been quietly and consistantly going about his business and goes unnoticed in some circles.
2nd - Nicklas Jensen - Oshawa - Jensen is also going about his business quietly scoring 1 goal and adding 4 assists and was a plus 2 in 2 games for the Generals. He's getting more and more comfortable in the North American game.
3rd - Mike Morrison - Kitchener - The Kitchener Rangers goaltender came within 4 minutes of recording back to back shutouts with a very good performance against Brampton where he made 29 saves on 30 shots.
