The Scouting Report has released their top 15 propsects for the 2011 NHL entry draft. While you can't go wrong with any of the top 15 they name, i can't agree on the order that they have them in. Take that as testament that 2011 will be that much harder than 2010 to call and an indication that the first round will be as good, if not better than 2010. Remember early last year when it was being called a weak draft for 2011 and i said now hold on a minute?
Tuesday, Bob McKenzie will release his top 10 preseason picks and i am willing to bet now that it won't look anything like we've seen released so far. Not that the lists already released bare any resemblance. It's just that wide open.
If you thought the Hall/Seguin debate in 2010 was entertaining, the Larsson/Couturier/Nugent-Hopkins debate has already gotten a head start over the formers debate. Some are already throwing Musil into that group but I have him competing with the likes of Ryan Murphy in the next group. And when you throw in the Russian dynamic duo of Khokhlachev and Namestnikov that only the latter is named in the Scouting Reports list, supper Dane Nicklas Jensen and the highly touted German Tobias Reider, i find it difficult for anyone to name the top 10 before the GM's go up to the podium in Minnesota in June of 2011.
