Daniel Catenacci, Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds
The first overall pick in the priority draft stepped right in and performed for the Greyhounds.
An exceptional skater with speed to burn right from his first stride to his top speed. An exceptional playmaker with an uncanny ability to put the puck in the net. He can create chances for himself and his team mates every time he’s on the ice using his explosive speed. He gets back into the defensive zone and is effective in his own end.
He has unbelievable offensive potential. He played 39 games for York Simcoe last season and scored 42 goals and added 45 assists while piling up 152 PIM.
In 65 games for the Greyhounds he scored 10 goals and added 20 assists playing on the top 2 lines and getting PP time. His 68 PIM shows he plays with a lot of grit, although he is on the small side. I liken him to Jeff Skinner with a lot more speed.
